Public attitudes on energy-related topics and issues

The survey on "Public Attitudes on Energy-Related Topics and Issues" was conducted among 1,000 adult citizens across the country and, along with a comprehensive review of public attitudes on a wide range of energy issues in general, found that:

  • Every third adult Bulgarian citizen shares the opinion that the Bulgarian energy system should be developed through better use of its own resources, including the construction of a new nuclear power plant.

    • At the same time, the study notes that Bulgarian energy continues to be perceived as one subject of highly specialized expert debate and complex geopolitical relations.

  • The majority of those who indicated that Bulgaria should optimize the use of its own resources, approve:

    • the construction of new capacities of Kozloduy NPP;

    • the construction of Belene NPP.
