Public attitudes on energy-related topics and issues

The survey on "Public Attitudes on Energy-Related Topics and Issues" was conducted among 1,000 adult citizens across the country and, along with a comprehensive review of public attitudes on a wide range of energy issues in general, found that:

Every third adult Bulgarian citizen shares the opinion that the Bulgarian energy system should be developed through better use of its own resources, including the construction of a new nuclear power plant.

At the same time, the study notes that Bulgarian energy continues to be perceived as one subject of highly specialized expert debate and complex geopolitical relations.

The majority of those who indicated that Bulgaria should optimize the use of its own resources, approve:

the construction of new capacities of Kozloduy NPP;

the construction of Belene NPP.
